Ask for the example

Split comments about the work from insults or guesses about you. You can ask for a clearer example without taking on an unfair label. Stress or tiredness change how a talk feels. They do not make the content true or false.
You can take one useful point and question another. You do not have to accept or reject the whole lot as one package.
